XXL Sting Ray Loose Original Gyotaku Fish Rubbing by Alex Dragoni

$599.99
This is a Original, one of a kind, Loose Gyotaku Fish Rubbing, painted by local fisherman and artist Alex Dragoni from Madeira Beach Florida. This is a humoungus 32 x 56 inch StingRay caught from the Gulf of Mexico. It would be over 60 inches long if the tail wasn't curled for the paintings. It is the largest Stingray I have ever painted and it made some beautiful rubbings. I have never seen a stingray rubbing this size fore sale before anywhere. I only painted 8 of them, and thats all there is in exisistance, very limited, very unique, very hard work. It is painted with Acrylic paint on a %100 black cotton fabric. This piece is done in gold, yellow, blue and white.(galaxy)).I also include a hand signed full colored Certificate Of Authenticity, which has pictures and explains a little bit about the process and artist. Gyotaku (Gyo "fish" + taku "rubbing") Is a traditional Japanese method of printing fish. A practice dating back hundreds of years, originally done by brushing ink on the body of the fish, then rubbing the fish with cloth or rice paper. This form of nature printing was used by fisherman to record size and species of their catches. The rubbings immortalize the fish and all of their natural and unique details. Gyotaku is not a perfect science and there is no such thing as a perfect rub. All of my paintings have small imperfections/smudges/splatter marks which make them unique and one of a kind. My prints are done with cotton fabric so my rubs have some wrinkles occasionally but no worries because when you take it to your framer, they should press mount it which removes all wrinkles. All Paintings are wrapped and shipped in a protective tubbing. Contact for special orders and custom pieces. There is a few inches of fabric around all sides for framing. Thank You Please contact if you have any questions. FREE SHIPPING INCLUDED
